I laughed when that lady started singing to the redhead during the mating ritual. I cried when the older lady started pushing his ass.

Hauntingly beautiful pretty much nails it. I liked this so much more than Hereditary. The story was believable and visuals and audio effects were amazing.

Ari does an incredible job of highlighting how horrific emotions, grief, family, relationships and self reflection/awakenings really are. This man is a genius. I liked this and hereditary equally. Both very different, but very much the same. Going to see it again next weekend.

Just watched the film last night. Good movie. For me, a movie always gets a thumbs up when there is full frontal male nudity in it. The last act of this film reminded me a bit of Suspiria 2018. I thought Heriditary was a bit more jolting than this film. I like how Aster tackles the family unit in his films.

Movie was garbage. Straight rip off regurgitated dog shit. What kind of art are you creating being a satisfied viewer of this pile. Nothing of any value. A "sawdust filled rabbit".

@Blonde M8 There will be blood score, Wickerman outline and tone, Get Out twist.
To boot it's a movie made to torture the viewer. I was feeling pretty burned getting referenced to see it. The feelings I had on my heart making that comment were fueled by the energy received from the flick, that could be a testament to its artistic effect. Pain, misunderstanding, division.... So if you are making great art and enjoyed this i'm sorry and I was wrong. We walked out at the hammer the old man scene, and then I read the synopsis. Couldn't believe what the makers actually intended me to see and feel. I see so many people ranting and raving about how great it is. Made me wonder what kind art the people who enjoyed it are currently making. Really what got me was the horrible cliche representation of psychedelics. Pairing their use with murdering cult bullshit. 12 people split 7 grams of mushrooms, and the "super realistic mushroom" scene happens. The visual and mental aspect captured of their trip represents eating less than a gram a piece. If the people that made this ate 20 grams a piece this isn't the movie they would have made. You see and feel something much different than the trees breathing. It takes over ten pounds of mushrooms to kill a rat. A human can consume much more before physically dying. It is a disservice to proper and safe psychedelic use, proper use intended to create growth and understanding, not manipulation and murder. So after working very hard yesterday to reformat my brain and ditch that movies energy all together, I feel much better today about saying if you enjoyed it good for you, and there has to be a percentage of cats making great art who got good energy from it. So i was wrong in that regard. Wouldn't be the first time, and it wont be the last. But hey pobodys nerfect and this mess is a place. cheers.

Not just public hair in that love spell. The folk artwork showed clipping the pubic hair and also collecting menstrual blood. The scene where Christian has her pubic hair in his pie he had blood in his drinking glass. The color of his was different than all the rest. I've heard of menstrual blood love spells out of Mexico (brujas).

It's rare to find movies that manage to keep you glued to the screen but this and Hereditary have managed to do so, Aster really is a great filmmaker and I'm sure there'll be plenty off good stuff coming from him in the future.

It is not a horror film. It has a really flawed third act. MSMMR is great and I was with you. I was in a trance from the inciting moment through the disappearance of josh. Then the lack of credibility overtook me. I appreciated the Aster never painted the community as the “Evil” consequently not a horror movie.

The characters were not developed and largely tropes though and for me, I need good characters or I'm out. Dani was developed. The rest he didn't even try.

Get out, and Jacobs ladder had me thinking about them long after leaving the theater. 28 days/Weeks are classic Zombie horror films I'd recommend. 30 day of night is my favorite portrayal of vampires. I also would recommend Aris other film Hereditary.
