One of my favorite scenes was when Cole reveals his secret. The music and creepy atmosphere were brilliant.

The ghost in the kitchen scene STILL haunts me to this day, even after seeing it maybe 18 years ago.

I think it's a pretty good movie for sure but I also think it might've been overhyped. Everyone says this is one of the greatest horror movies ever, and even just one of the greatest movies in general. But then I watched it and thought, "yeah, it's good. Not amazing or anything, but good." It's certainly better than The Happening. Although you could argue that movie was supposed to make you laugh

Watching this now that I’m a mom, I really appreciate Toni Collette’s performance so much more.

I agree 100%, and it's true that this is one of the few movies whee the second viewing is even better than the first. Great review and thank you for reminding me of this gem!

Not just one one Shyamalan's greatest movies, but easily one of the greatest movies I've ever seen. When Shyamalan comes through, he comes through clutch.

Bruce never gets acting credit but he sure knows how to pick good movies to star in.

What made the Sixth Sense, like many of Shamalan films is the strong acting particularly Haley Joel Osmett in this film. Plot holes - Bruce Willis is in Haley Joel's house sitting with his mother...how did he get in?? How is he there without talking to the mother??? Wouldn't he question that? Are we to believe Willis' character grieving over the failure of his marriage that he never notices he doesn't have his wedding ring on??? Is he so naive to the fact nobody is talking to him except Haley in his whole existence?? And the most obvious...HE DIDN"T NOTICE THE BLOOD AND BULLET HOLE IN HIS SHIRT?? wtf Wouldn't that set off a little red flag?? The film is good entertainment but a bit far fetched. I wanted Shamalan to be the next Speilberg as well.. I really did...it just never happened...:( Thanks for the review Chris, I enjoy your vids. :)

I must be one of very few people (if people I've talked to about it are typical) to have worked out he was dead before it was fully revealed. And it WAS the scene where he clutches his stomach.

Can anyone name big child actor stars who went onto a biggish career in movies as adults? None come to mind, except perhaps Jason Gordon-Levitt from TV actor as a kid to now

I rewatched this amazing movie and the most horrible thing is when they help the father of the young girl that died... in their courtyard, you can clearly hear someone saying : (and i heard that now her younger sister is starting getting sick too! ) Just before they enter the house.
God that made me sick to my stomach! ... I loved the ending scene but for me the one where he explains to his mother what he is seeing was the most powerful one! I cried when Toni cried loll

I enjoyed the Sixth Sense, I don't think it's as good as Chris thinks it is but it's a good movie. Signs was stupid, The Village was really stupid, The Happening was hilariously stupid. Those are the only ones I've seen.

This movie truly is everything. I mean the acting alone is just phenomenal. Toni Colette, ugh, just rips my heart out every single time when I see the bumblebee scene, ugh. And Osment, no words. The kid deserved an Oscar, hands down.

I remember catching this for the first time on netflix back in 2012 i think, and somehow id managed to never find anything out about it till i watched it, and it lived up to the hype and thoroughly suprised me. I was not expecting that ending at all. Im glad i was never spoiled on this one, its one of those story telling experiences that stays with you you know.

My aunt was almost lynched in a theater when she screamed out, “Oh, my god, he’s dead!”....a few people actually yelled at her 😂. If I’d been M. Night, I’d have been so convinced that I’d given it away by some of those scenes...like with his wife, she says NOTHING to him, yet we don’t get that he’s dead. She could even have had a line...I probably would have given her a line just to cement the illusion. Maybe she says something like, “I’m not doing this,” where we think she’s talking to Bruce...but it’s just to herself. Also, when the camera is zooming in on Bruce’s face when Cole says he sees dead people...I just assumed that Bruce’s character was thinking, “Wow, this kid is more f’d up than I thought!” I think that’s what most people assumed. So brilliantly done. Especially that scene with mom and Bruce sitting in the living room. You just assume they’d been talking! On follow up viewings, I notice that at one point, Cole looks towards his mother in the kitchen...as if he’s thinking, “I hope she doesn’t hear me talking to...nobody.” Every scene in this film is perfect.
