I once saw a clip of Anthony Rizzo, I believe, at bat and he stepped out of the box and tapped the top of his helmet to tell the second umpire to get out of his LOS. Apparently that's the signal.

Eddie Stanky was much much more than just what is mentioned in this video. He played for the Chicago Cubs, the Dodgers, the Braves, the NY Giants and the Cardinals, as well as managed the Cardinals(he was actually player/manager for them), the White Sox and the Texas Rangers. He played 3 All-Star games, was a master of the delayed steal, managed to get the rules re-written for other tactics, and was a contributor to the breaking of the color barrier. He wasn't much of a runner, or a hitter, or a fielder...but as the manager of the Dodgers said, he was a winner.

Eddie Stanky was the king of Air Budding. When he was a runner on third base, he would walk out into left field, several feet behind the bag. Then when someone hit an outfield fly, he would time his running so that he'd hit the bag just after the catch at full speed and race to home with the ball still in the outfield, basically making it impossible to throw him out. They made a rule for that.

Later in his career he became a manager for the Cardinals and he would slow games down to the point that they would be close to being called on account of darkness, when he felt it would benefit his team. To achieve this he would take leisurely strolls across the field to the mound to converse with his pitcher... after every pitch. This is the reason there is a rule of one trip per inning.

                                                                            • Kuruma Uzamaki
