I still for the life of me cant understand why D&D did what they did in the writers room , they had such an opportunity to leave a television legacy unmatched if they only hadnt ruined Jamie, Daenerys, or Jon's characters all for nothing !

Dany must have stabbed Jon just before Jon did and so he would have stabbed her too and both of them would have died. A better ending.

Yeah really. And all that just to go batshit and join the dark side. Shit, her turn was about as rushed as Anakin's was in Episode 3. Both were poorly done but Dany's supposedly literally only took a moment. Fuck outta here D&D. Fucking world-class trolls I swear. So glad they won't be getting Star Wars after all, HA HA HA HA!! Bitches. Shoulda done your first project right maybe eh!!?? Have a little respect for the work eh?? Fucking spoiled brats.

                        • Zimmit's FunHouse Adventure

You know, I like thinking of Dany as the savior but certain things from her past make me just want to gut a bitch and give me extreme pause about her. Since I really do want to love her, my only choice is to write those moments out of my head canon. A couple of them I can excuse due to her age and environment but not all. The ones I'm referring to are:
                          1) Viserys- Doing and feeling nothing as he is killed. I dont see her doing this to her only living family and the only family she's ever known. He was a cunt but seriously??? He was a young entitled braggart, but he didn't deserve to die. She would have had to hate him to want him dead, and I don't believe she hated him at all. I'm sure she hated his abuse and he deserved to get his but not to die. I don't believe that he would have ever really harmed her beyond being a cocksucker and making empty threats. He was a petulant brat, but not sadistic or cruel, not on the show at least and I dont know about the books, and Dany knew that.
                          2) The Witch- Sentencing to death the older woman for cursing the Khal. Like in her shoes bitch you wouldn't have wanted the same?? GTFO. You ain't too young to understand simple empathy. All you have to do is ask yourself how you would feel if you were her.
                          3) Locked up her own kind and loyal handmaiden and the rich dude in Qarth to die by thirst or suffocation (whichever came first). This is just evil. I HAVE to pretend it didn't happen or I want Danearys dead by fire NOW. Her handmaiden was weak and nothing but a pawn and Dany should remember all too well what that was like. So this didn't happen as far as I'm concerned or Dany no longer exists to me. She could have easily cut their heads off instead if she felt it necessary to harm them.
                          4) Killed the teen boy slave in Mereen AS HE BEGGED FOR HIS LIFE and over a technicality who acted to serve HER. GTFO with that shit. Granted, he didn't suffer, which is the only thing about this making me not want to kill her also.
                          5) Burning the Tarlys. This was unnecessary and shows bloodthirstiness. I'm not sure what the accepted practices are in the that instance, but if death was assured I doubt Tarly Sr. would have been so quick to refuse to bend the knee. I'm sure he assumed they would be taken prisoner, as was the custom presumably. But NO. Dany has to go full Full Metal Jacket on a bitch. Right. Where's her respect for other noble houses?? Wouldn't she do the same in his shoes?? But only the Targaeryn name matters right?? That's a mighty big superiority complex she's getting. All that shows is megalomania, NOT honor.

So, yeahhhhh, I do want to love her but I'm torn. I can't love a stone-cold killer with psychopathic tendencies every time she gets pissed off, even though she does care for the weak, the innocent and the children at other times. So, I have to blank those out of my head canon. If I do, then I can love her and see her as a liberating hero and one who fights with honor. Otherwise, I'd just want her dead, and I wouldn't see her worthy of a goddamn thing, no different than Cersei or any other brutal ruler, who becomes vengeful and murderous the moment someone offends or crosses them.

As it happens, I have to do the same thing for Jon and Stannis also. Jon due to his choice to kill the orphaned CHILD and basically little brother Olly and that inept weak-willed cowardly guy at Castle Black, and Stannis over his daughter. Otherwise Jon is just a cold-blooded vengeful unhinged bastard cunt to me with no honor at all who I could give two fucks about what happens to anymore, and Stannis is a fully-brainwashed nutcase who lost his entire identity to the Red Woman which included deep love for his daughter. (To the show's credit, they at least did reference Olly later during Jon's conversation and it was indicated that he felt remorse and shame for it. Yay for some continuity and good choices in dialogue! sure does make a difference when that happens.)

                            Stefano Modonesi  2 days back

I try to respond to the things you have written, I hope you find it useful.

                            1) In the show Daenerys behaves like an insensitive person, but in the books (which I think you don't know), she always thinks of her brother Viserys, and you can see how much her brother misses her sometimes.
Even when she already has an army (Unsullied and Dothraki), Daenerys thinks about how happy her brother would be by seeing what she managed to do, and she only wants to take the iron throne of for a sense of duty to her family and her brother, and not because she craves for herself.
Daenerys just wanted to go home (in the books), and all she does is for her a duty towards the Targaryen house, she being the last of her family (or at least that's what she believes).
In the books it doesn't look like stingy or bitch like D&D want to make it appear on the show.

                            2) Daenerys kills the maegi Mirri Maz Duur not for poisoning Drogo's wound or for killing her unborn child, but for lying to her!
Daenerys understood why the witch had killed her husband and her son (Mirri Maz Duur did not want the Dothraki to rape and kill other people), but what she could not forgive was that the witch had mocked her and lied to her.
Daenerys told the witch very clearly that she understood why she had done it, but this did not justify her betrayal of her, since Daenerys had always been kind to her.
So the betrayal was the witch's fault, not having killed her husband and her son.

                            3) In the DVD version I think there is a sequence that was cut in which you could see her handmaiden strangling the other handmaiden (the one of Dothraki origin who took care of Daenerys), and while strangling her she said she would did anything for to make a better life (in fact then ends up in the bed of Xaro Xhoan Daxos).
Xaro, on the other hand, I think is still alive in the books, and he didn't make that end you see on the show.
Speaking only of the show, however, Xaro and the handmaiden both deserved this end, because they were really petty people.

                            4) If I remember correctly it was Daario Naharis who killed that boy. I think Daenerys really didn't want that boy to die, but if she was weak on that occasion she wouldn't get the respect of the people.
It was necessary to give a strong signal that there are rules to be respected.

                            5) On Tarly, Daenerys she had said very clearly that either they bent their knees and joined her in her new world, or they died in their old world.
Tyrion also offered Tarly to take black, but Randyll said he did not want to take orders from a foreign woman who is not his queen.
Daenerys gave them a choice, which instead Cersei, Jon, Robb, Ned ... never gave their condemned, who were killed without choice.
Daenerys has always given her enemies a choice (even to the Khal who burned she gave a choice, but they continued to insult her and so she did what was in her plans).
Daenerys was ruthless, but she was also a person of speech and able to forgive: one of the Dothraki who whipped her during the march to the city of the Khal, in fact, was forgiven and ended up becoming one of her personal guards in the seventh and eighth season.

However the greatest conquerors of history (Julius Caesar, Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan ...) have made authentic massacres of innocents (in comparison Daenerys becomes a saint) even without having dragons, and none of them was crazy, sadistic or evil .
Every time they killed someone (even innocent) there was always a very valid reason: to get respect or to send a clear message to their enemies.
Only in this way BUILD an empire, otherwise it changes jobs.
It is one thing to be a good king or queen, and another to be a conqueror, one who CREATES empires (not that he was inherits them from his father).
And Daenerys was definitely more a conqueror than a queen (also because reigning means often finding compromises, and she hated compromises).

On Jon I have to warn you that in the books there is no Olly character, and the reason why Jon in the books is stabbed to death is slightly different from the show.
However in the books and on the show the character of Jon is very "grey", and he is not that good boy that many think (in the books he exchanges Gilly's son with that of Mance Rayder because he does not want Melisandre to sacrifice the king's son beyond the Barrier).
On Stannis ... forgets the Stannis of the show, because in the books Stannis is completely different, and he never killed his daughter, since he really loves her very much.
Probably in the books (but it hasn't happened yet) Jon will be resurrected by Melisandre through the sacrifice of Shireen, who will be burned on the pyre to bring Jon back to life.

But Stannis has nothing to do with this, since there are only Jon, Melisandre and Shireen at the black castle, while Stannis has gone further south and is now liberating the north from the Boltons (Stannis is liberating the north, not Jon !).
D&D hated the character of Stannis: he only burned traitors in the books, and never innocent people with the only fault of not believing in the god of light.
With some characters D&D really changed everything compared to books, that's why in the last few seasons (especially the last two) many of the things we've seen don't make sense.
Stannis in the books is a tough and inflexible character, but fair with people, and he would never kill his daughter to get the favors of the god of light.

The show for me didn't end when she died. It ended when her son died. Succeeding when making your own family matters more than succeeding at conquering a thousand kingdoms. Who the hell will remember you in a thousand years? More importantly, who will care? You're just another name in a history book full of leaders.

Jon Snow is a really bad hero.
He chooses to kill Daenerys, who is his queen, his lover and his relative, instead of forgiving her and trying to help her find herself after what she did.
But when in the 4 season Tormund Giantsbane and other men exterminate all the people in Mole's Town (innocent people, not Night’s Watch), Jon does not hesitate to forgive Tormund because it was the right thing to do to rescue the Free People of the North, and to get their help against Others.
So Jon forgives Tormund without hesitating even though he killed dozens or hundreds of innocent people, while with his aunt he kills her without even trying to give her a second chance, because she had killed innocents, but they were people from a foreign city (King's Landing) who didn't part of the North (hence of its people).
Tormund, on the other hand, had killed his people in Mole's Town (people of the North), but this thing does not create problems at Jon, and indeed Tormund becomes his best friend.
Don't you find that there is a huge double standard in all this?

Five months later I still shouldn't be pissed about the ending, but I am. Daenerys deserved so much better. She was a heroine with flaws, yet was given no chance at redemption. Even Cersei got that much in her death. D&D chose shock value over story telling and their ending made the first seven seasons pointless. GRRM can dress up his last two books however he choses, but he, D&D, and HBO made a mistake believing nihilism as an ending would be suitable.

If she had attacked the Red Keep (Not the city just the castle) as soon as she landed, she would be safely and triumphantly ensconced on the Iron Throne. At this time Cersei had no scorpions/ ballistae to counter the dragons with and after taking out Cersei and the Red Keep she would have been in a better position to win the rest of the realm and take on the undead.
Instead she listened to Tyrion in order to save the lives of the inhabitants of the city. She could have taken out the Red Keep without causing massive casualties i.e just Cersei and the castle garrison.

She was Aegon's Blood and Seed.
She started as an innocent girl,
she turned into a mature, strong woman.
She started as an obedient, little sister,
she turned into a great, magnificent dragonrider. A true warrior.
She entered the flames possessing nothing,
she rose from the ashes and bones holding three little dragons.
                                                      Legends who came to life.
She became the Bride of Fire.
Her once silver, shining like the moon, hair burnt alongside the love of her life and her past.
Her once sweet, unique violet eyes, fire turned them into vivid and sparkling flames.
                                                      She became a silver she-dragon.
She freed every slave she could, breaking their chains. She gave them back a new life. A new hope.
She became the Breaker of Chains.
She punished hard all those who didn't show respect and mercy to human lives. Those who faked kindness and graciousness to her. Those who reminded her the only family she ever met.
She became the Slayer of Lies.
She turned her eyes to the West. To the land that she was born but never set foot.
She lost Viserion for the sake of love.
She lost Rhaegal for the sake of the throne that was rightfully hers.
She avenged with the only coin her family knew.
                                                      Fire and Blood.
She lost her life because of a betrayal that hurt her more than the icy knife in her fiery heart.
                                                      Queen Daenerys Targaryen deserved better.
She deserved love because she yearned for it.
She deserved respect because she earned it.
She deserved a happy ending because she was a good woman!
She had saved more lives than she had taken!

I think Danny should be reborn & have John hating his sister for betraying him & putting bullshit in his head...,. I would like to see John be so sorry for what he did & have Danny see , but I don’t no if Danny could forgive John , but Danny did do wrong by killing all them ppl who had already surrendered to Danny.... but have Danny say to John he done the right thing by killing her & been reborn & getting a second chances to change & do what’s right now.... & Sansa was a masterminded cunt, who was out to destroy Danny from the start, even before she meet Danny , bc Sansa couldn’t never compare or come close to been a real queen, like Danny Targaryen, the one & only true queen 👑 Sansa deserves to die really but let fancy Sansa punish by been Danny’s slave, lol! Making Sansa one of the queens lady’s , running & warming her bath dressing Queen Danny & letting Sansa watch the really queen rule .... & Teryan be johns groomsmen or what ever they called them back in the day, you know the guy who got the privilege to wipe the kings ass🤣 & John wants to change the world & the rules, & stop the killing, but still ppl need punished for betrayal a queen & king.... & John should start with his sister.... & what was fucked up they let John live for killing the queen 🤨 wtf! This is why the ending was dumb as fuck & didn’t make any fucking sense at all, it was like Danny died for doing what she was suppose to do & John didn’t want ppl to die & wanted it to stop, but killed his queen all bc of a jealous cunt sister & a man who betrayed his queen for a cunt wife & a evil sister who hated him & tryed more than once to have Tearyan killed... but I wish all the fans would have the power to ask & get a 9th season.... I just feel it would make more sense & would be an amazing story & a awesome, “makes” more senses ending😊

Call it greed of power, ignorence born out of it or whatever. Emergence of jon as Targeryan put her into doubt about herself. She always thought she was right and the best 7 kingdom can have as a queen. But when she saw jon getting applaud. Her frame broke. She no longer was the best 7 kingdoms could have. Her anger was always a thing. But until it was controlled by thought of doing good for people, it was correct. But when better person with greater claim emerged who didn't even wanted throne. Her anger took a form of evil which made innocents die. Need of power does that to you. What great lesson Game of Thrones taught us. Saying it again, one of the best ending to show if not best. Not sure about how season 8th was made?
