      Hey Scotty,
I recently bought a 2009 Honda Civic with 100k miles and everything is okay but the car makes a loud vibrating noise while driving and sometimes while it parked, any thoughts on what it could be ?

Hey Scotty, my 11’ Corolla le leaked coolant last week. The only noticeable place was my drivers side front wheel well. I took the car in and they couldnt find a leak. Any idea how it could have leaked?

I disagree Scotty, what u have for your Celica is an emotional attachment, it's hard to remain cold towards something that serves u for decades with little trouble even if it's jus a machine.

You can also check motor mounts by putting the car in drive or reverse while your foot is on the brake then give it a little gas, the engine will move around a lot if mounts are broken. Make sure the hoods open and having a helper is a good idea.

On rear wheel drive cars the drivers side motor mount is the one that always breaks. Easy to see the engine will pick it self up when you check.

Hey Scotty, talking about motorcycles, I heard that motorcycle tires should be changed after 5 years no matter how much tread is left. Do you have any opinion about that ?

I just test drove the Lexus GS f sport 350, LS 500 with the new 6cyl turbo and the new RCF. Absolutely the most boring uninspiring cars I have ever driven. Then I test drove a bmw 340i and boom! Instant smile and gratification. I’ll be purchasing a used 340i with 10k miles for 25k and can’t wait to give bmw my money.

It's quite common for old pickups to rest on a rusted frame and the F-150 is no different. They otherwise can last a very long time, so when it's being sold it's often due to a rusted frame.

My father-in-law loved Mercedes for their safety, and he had (among others) a 300D with the A/C not working. When my car was in the shop, he lent me the 300D. It was August in South Florida and wow! Instead of ducting the outside air just under the superheated dash, the ducting was buried and insulated from the August heat. The car was actually quite pleasant to drive even without the A/C working. It's a shame that other cars don't route their outside air like that old 300D.

He eventually fixed the A/C. It was a case of the shoemaker's kids go barefoot. He had enough other peoples' cars to work on (it wasn't his main job; just a love of mechanics) that he took (quite often) a long time to fix the cars driven by others in the family. But he was a great mechanic and I learned a lot from him.

I was curious if It would be best to replace everything with the exception of some hoses and reservoirs.. or should I pull everything off, replace every gasket and just clean it all very well.. replace fluids etc.
