Hey hope you enjoy this video! I didn't talk about planes!

I was floored by the quality of the food the Blue Apron had considering it shows up in a box at your doorstep. Legitimately great food and it's really pretty quick and easy so make sure to check out the link in the description if you like free food (and supporting Wendover Productions!)

I love the way you pull up info and the way you present it.

I wish you would do a comparison between suburban train, commuter train, elevated/ at grade light rail, c train, street car, tram, at grade/elevated/ underground metro train, mono rail, sky rail, tram bus, electric bus on grid,

In terms of capacity, speed, vehicular conflict, punctuality, stop/station types, fare collection types, overhead or track level power supply options, driverless ability, visual positive or negative presentability, width required for two way transport, density of people required for 0.8km radius around station to sustain.
cost of construction per km, cost of unit train, station/ stop cost, station/stop maintenance cost, driver cost, support staff cost, cost of fare collection systems and if it will be worth to collect fares, daily ridership required to sustain maintenance, payback period for each.

This question might seem stupid but why is there no construction under elevated lines? Are there any restrictions for commercial residential space under an elevated line. I believe if construction is done then the lines could be less unsightly while generating revenue from establishments below.

          I live in Stockholm.
They charge a fee for entering AND leaving the city. Totaly it costs about 100-150 USD per month. So no, its not a small fee.
And after that small decrease in trafic 2006 it has grown a whole lot.
25 minutes by train or 60-90 minutes in trafic jams is what we have.
The problem is that some professions require having a car on dayly basis, so no, this did not solve any problems, just added another tax for working class that rely and earn a living with a car.

The biggest flaw in your logic is thinking that traffic is simply congestion. The context around what causes traffic is different for cities all over the world. Have you seen roundabouts in New Deli, India? Are those roundabouts better than traffic lights? Perhaps. But that's not the point when you take into account how bad traffic still is in those places, and how many accidents still occur. Or do you just dismiss regions that lack proper development? The solution isn't technical. And deterring people from driving isn't a solution everywhere either. What about cities where public transportation sucks? Deterring road usage in cities where there are few alternate forms of transportation will only restrict people from getting around. You see, context is everything. We need to change the way we get around

GOD NO. Look, I don't really have a problem with roundabouts if THE PEOPLE HERE KNEW HOW TO FUCKING DRIVE, but they don't, and roundabouts cause MONUMENTAL TRAFFIC HERE. Like, a MILE LONG BACKUP ON A MODERATE-USE BACK ROAD.

Fixing traffic forever needs to fix the car culture of the world. There should be no reason to need cars for most people in cities and the problem will solve itself. A bus can carry 100 people and take up 4 cars worth of space on the road. A train can move people at rates faster than any highway. Good public transportation system and walkable neighborhoods are the answer, suburbs where everyone owns a car and all drive in during rush hour for work is never going to work no matter how efficient or wide the roads are.

You said that people can just walk or take public transportation. That makes me cringe. Not everyone lives in big cities. In America, small towns have no public transportation and pedestrians don't exist either. You either drive or ride with someone else. But then again, traffic isn't a problem either.

6:52 Roundabouts aren't more expensive to maintain: Traffic lights cost more having to pay electricity not to mention having to replace the lights once they wear out, whereas roundabouts are just a one time installation of concrete.

The purpose of the road is not to be uncongested. It is to get people to a destination. If more lanes results in more cars, that's not a failure. That's more people being able to get to where they want to be. Before you added the extra lanes, those people would have been out of luck. It's absurd to think that getting people to not use the roads is a success.

Imagine trying to get turned around in a truck... it's impossible, sometimes you have to drive 5-10 miles cause you can't just U-turn or use a car park, roundabouts let you spin round easily. Also, they let you maintain movement - the worst part about driving in an urban area with traffic lights is that you floor it (using tonnes of diesel), and can barely clear the junction before the lights change, then as soon as you're up to 30mph you're hard on the brakes again for the red light ahead. Roundabouts let you just cruise through at 15-20mph, which means you're not getting people cutting infront of you, you are using less fuel, and you're not holding everybody up.

                                                                      • Lone Wolf

Yes, shared space is not a one-size-fits-all approach, although it's somewhat fashionable at the moment, so planners introduce it as a silver bullet. There are many situations where it can make things worse for everyone, such as when there's a dominant traffic flow, with very little conflicting traffic. It'll just constantly flow through without stopping.

Also, in many places, they are not signed correctly. In Cornwall (I forget the town name), they introduced this, but there is no instruction that it is shared space, they just removed the markings. Ergo, some people still treated the junctions like mini-roundabouts (which they are not), while others treated them as they are, creating traffic conflict, worse traffic flow than before, more congestion, and a less cyclable/walkable environment.

There are too many people in the world. I'm all for thinning the heard. Although if you told me the stadium was filled with New York Giants fans I'd say lets decimate the whole lot of them

I can't tell you how many people stop atleast 3 or 4 car lengths away from any vehicle in front of them because as soon as they stop moving or know they gonna stop. They look at their phone.
