Betsy Devoe in her slippery slope straw man excuses. That lady couldn't think her way out of a paper bag. She said a lot of words and didn't actually list one program one example she just said a lot of phrase words like opportunity and creation and freedom those are not descriptions of what actual implemented plans there are. And it's disgusting to watch all of the educational institutions fall right in line with this trash

This lady has the mentality of the Obama regime. Why don't they just fix the the education system back to where it was when children were encouraged to learn. Instead of putting the problem on the parents? The government owes it to the public!!! Or end school taxes and reimburse the public for the last 11 years.

Republicans are anti education, just pro big business. If we cannot produce skilled labor like other countries are producing, then labor must be met elsewhere. America is cutting it's own throat with substandard education policy.many homeless are illiterate and political nonsense is to blame. Big business wants to drain tax dollars for their own profits, educational funding is being redirected to other special interest funding. Tax dollar's no longer support american education at a proper level, voters are conned into believing it's the teachers fault, but it's government who fails funding for proper education. Government is a banana republic now, and your throwing away your tax dollar's to special interests. Statistics don't lie,

Current status of graduates from the public school system in america today is far below world education standards. Cognitive skill levels are at 12%, that is proof Americans no longer consider education a priority, just a tax burden. As a country we won't be able to complete if our future generations can't learn new skills if their illiterate. We already have a overabundance of Berger flippers, let's try scientists and technical specialists.

Thank God they got rid of Common Core! Actually two years ago I saw in the Dollar Tree that common core books were for sale. So I knew then they were getting rid of it. It started with Obama's No Child Left Behind which actually left millions of children behind. And continued in New York City when they try to shut down some of the best charter schools where the kids had the best grades. It's disgusting how the Democrats aren't for the children. They are for the unions and for some reason they think for-profit schools are bad. Maybe if there was a little competition in the school's this way they would be wanting to do better

If the numbers they used for that are even remotely accurate, what is CPS doing? Why are these kids still under the charge of their parents instead of wards of the state? At least the state can provide a stable environment. Secondly, how about auditing welfare and SNAP recipients to see how they are using that assistance and how are their children doing in school? If the kids are failing, then remove them and cease the assistance. School choice is an easy second step here but it should go much further. We home school because there's no way we are letting government leftists get their claws on our children. That's our right. Nevertheless, the bulk of our property taxes go to fund horrible public schools. I want my money back.
