Shown this to the people advocating for non stop war in Syria. Those bashing the president for taking troops out of harm's way will not be the ones sent to fight that war. Nor will their sons or daughters

I feel sorry for the guy who’s head he smashed in. Typical self centred American prick. Clueless about geo-politics too, doesn’t realise that he is on the wrong side of history. Fuck him.

Honestly, in that moment, you do what you need to do to survive. It's you, or the other guy.

Afterwards, that's the thing that sticks in your brain.

That's at least what I've interpreted it to be. I've never been in the military, but after listening to many, many soldiers talk about, that's what I think.

You gotta respect the hell outta these men and women who go through such a thing, to battle the memories of the horrors of survival must be the toughest thing to do. It's why you should support your vets no matter what. Even if you don't support war( I don't), the men and women who are sent to fight aren't the bad guys, they're just everyday people, and they did something that changed their life significantly.

Anyone who has served, is currently serving, and will serve in the future, you have my up most respect, love and gratitude.

Its a god damn shame so many man died only for one reason, to protect the MONEY of some rich Scumbags or to get even more rich. Governments are only Puppets for a little group of people who have more money than the rest of all other people on the hole planet together. These few people are our true Enemys, the enemy of humankind itself. The thing is they would besimple to find but no one does, follow the money, where you find that you find them. I'm talking not of Millionares or even Billionares, they look compared to them like poor people.

He talks about how this taught him that if he can connect with someone he is killing, then in our everyday lives we can connect to other people. This just doesn't make sense to me. I see no logical connection between these things. Killing someone is a different type of connection than, say, having a conversation with someone you disagree with. I think I understand the point he is trying to make, but I don't understand how he gets to it.
