@Shyhalu  Shyhalu  Jesus you're an angry kid. For the record I'm not prepubescent, which is the correct term. I'm also not "whining like a bitch".

Tywin may have sacked Kings Landing but he didn't systematically murder everyone living there. The Mountain did rape and kill and guess what, the Martells planned his and the Lannisters destruction for the next 15-odd years through deals with Viserys and the Golden Company. Or they did in the books at least when the Dornish plot wasn't utter shit. There absolutely were consequences for killing lots of people.

As for Cersei fleeing the red keep tell me how the fuck Dany is supposed to know that? Also tell me how that changes what I said at all. She is still burning a castle to its foundations and immolating everyone inside - that still sends a fucking clear message of "don't fuck with me". Only a child thinks you have to literally kill everyone for people to get the picture that you're not someone to be messed with. Especially when her motivations for 7 seasons was protecting the innocent and helpless from tyrants. Sure it may not be irregular to burn a million people to death but she has always wanted to be different from the brutal lords she once had to flee from. It's not coddling and you're arguments work a lot better when you're not acting like a condescending douchebag throwing insults left and right

@Benjamin Dunne "I'm not arguing with the idea of Dany being Mad Queen"

Neither am I, but you are arguing for what I said nonetheless - coddling. Save that shit for Lord of the Rings.

"A smarter way would be for her to instead burn down the red keep only after the surrender."

You mean the red keep Cersei walked out of? The red keep that has thousands of secret passage ways?

That also does nothing to instill the fear she wanted.

Don't open your mouth unless you are going to actually read what I wrote as you completely missed everything I said about Tywin and how effective it was.

"Just a far more believable monster and arguably a more justifiable one.

Aegon burned the entirety of Harrenhall, innocents included.
During the dange of dragons, various cities were burnt to the ground....No. One. Gave. A. Shit.

The Mountain took 500 riders and burned down villages left and right, including gangraping the women and murdering children.
No one gave a shit, no one called him insane, no one came after him afterwards.

Tywin had king's landing sacked....I hope your prebuscent ass knows what that means..but in case you don't it means rape and pillaging.
No one gave a shit or called them insane.

You are whining like a bitch about shit that is normal in westeros.
Dany burning down the city was the smartest thing she has done since she became a character.
It clears out her enemies and sets the tone for the other kingdoms and her actions aren't irregular to the history of westeros.

End of argument, now stfu already.

@Shyhalu Dude, I'm not arguing with the idea of Dany being Mad Queen so you can shove that condescension for a start. The way they did Mad Queen was the laziest way they could've possibly done it.

A smarter way would be for her to instead burn down the red keep only after the surrender. We know from the previous episode that Cersei filled the keep with civvies as human shields. So Dany could've killed everyone in the keep and had the deaths of hundreds rather than hundreds of thousands achieve the exact same thing. Then maybe have her not give a shit about killing those innocent people and you've still got a monster on the throne. Just a far more believable monster and arguably a more justifiable one.

As for Jon being able to kill her, well that was a) obvious and b) easy. He's her lover and her most important ally. Of fucking course he's able to walk right up to her considering they had been alone dozens of times before.

@Benjamin Dunne No she doesn't....And Tywin Lannister didn't need to drown the Reynes in a mine in Castamere.

Yet he did, and his house was feared and respected as a result.

Tywin also didn't need to start a war when Tyrion was captured.
Yet he did, as taking a family member with impunity causes the house to lose respect of the sheeples.

" she achieves that same fear of crossing her."

Yet, Cersei crossed her. Sansa crossed her. Even John crossed her and initially refused to bend the knee

"Nothing could touch her at that point minus a teleporting Arya."

Yet John walked up to her and stabbed her. Funny how being untouchable works.

Just face it, you have no idea what the hell you are talking about.
GoT didn't become popular because it caters to your fairytale tropes where everyone wins and lives happily ever after.
It takes your stupid prepubescent ideas and wipes its ass with them.

      Benjamin Dunne  5 months back

@Shyhalu She really doesn't need to burn the city to the ground. Killing the golden company and the lannister would've done that adequately. Do a Tywin and completely destroy the Lannister name and she achieves that same fear of crossing her. After all she has the unsullied and Drogon to help enforce her power. Not to mention loyalty of the North, the Eyrie, Riverlands, Storms End and Dorne (the only virtually untouched army left in the seven kingdoms). Nothing could touch her at that point minus a teleporting Arya.

D&D are very stupid and are basically manchildren. They write at a comic-book level. Why they keep getting serious projects is very far beyond me.

When is Cleganebowl fanfiction? The Mountain burned his brother with fire so wouldn’t it be poetic for Sandor to kill Gregor with fire? Fire is what started both of their stories and fire would end it in a fitting way. I’m sure George RR Martin is aware of this.

I don't get why Daenerys didn't suggest marrying Jon that way nobody could undermine her and pit the two against each other. I know Jon doesn't want to habe sex with her but they don't have to have sex. In season 5 she married Hizdar and never had sex with him it was just for politics but for some reason she's doesn't suggest it to Jon but I think it's because the plot doesn't want her too.

This is the analogy I usually make.

She's a Clint Eastwood cowboy, in that time period with no real laws. She is targeted for who she is, so she shoots the bad guys to survive.
Then she realizes that she can help others, so she liberates them and shoots the bad guys once again.
Now, we are in the final scene of the movie, she wins the shoot-out with the bad guys, and then....
She starts to shoot civilians for no reason at all.

            Derp

I felt absolutely nothing when she died because "that's not her".

Of course she would have love for what she did at Winterfell, and she already had tons of love from Missandei and Greyworm, and of course many of the troops...
All she needs is to take over the throne and do a bit better than Cersei, who the show constantly tells us does not care about the people (since we are rushing to the end this is never really demonstrated)
If Jon does not love her, heck, she would have thousands of Daarios standing in line wanting to marry her and all..

She's not even the only one who rapidly changes in the last season, Jamie for instance suddenly does not at all care about the people although we have seen many times over that he does
And why is Arya not killing Cersei? Why is this final battle even happening? Have they all forgotten about what she can do? Why is she leaving Winterfell so late when she should be escorted to King's Landing in secrecy?

the thing about fanfiction is that a lot of it is actually quite good because it comes from thoughtful, insightful people who have a lot of respect and reverence for the logical and narrative continuity of the source material.

                whoever wrote this does not.

It’s not luck, she purposely flys up high and storms down with the sun at her back to blind the aim of the scorpion men, and she flys strategically low approaching the scorpions on the wall then flys above them before the men can get the scorpions back up to aim higher. Euron the Moron hitting Rhaegal was dumb luck coated in a thick layer of plot contrivance.

If it was this easy to burn a whole city with one dragon, stone buildings and all, why couldn't two dragons take out the army of the dead? So annoying. The longer I think about it, the worse it gets.

Absolutely agree. Daenerys wouldn't do this.

D&D absolutely murdered her character and this show. EVERYTHING was forced into getting to the firey spectacle so D&D could make a big burning city scene. Yeah, it's like some stupid kid fan fiction where it was written for the sole purpose of assassinating a character.

Jon Snow an epic battle with Night King killing each other and Daenerys heartbroken leaving westeros to be ruled by Varys and Tyrion and went back to Meeren, and as queen of the North LEEANA MORMONT , Sansa this horrible bitch should be slained by Ramsey

maybe people will start to realize why modern storytelling is dog shit.

DANY WOULD DO THAT, SHE IS A TARGARYEN IM SO SICK OF PEOPLE SAYING SHE WOULDNT DO THAT. CONSTANTLY OVER THE SHOW SHE HAS BEEN SET UP TO BECOME JUST LIKE THAT MAD KING, EVERYTIME. IT MAKES PERFECT SENSE. THAT IS THE LEAST OF THE PROBLEMS OF THE LAST SEASON. SHE HAS DONE PLENTY OF EVIL THINGS. GET OVER IT. LIKE VARYS SAID TARGARYENS ARE A COIN FLIP. FROM THE BEGINNING SHE HAS BEEN SET UP TO BE EVIL. SHE IS NOT JUST SHE HAS NEVER BEEN . MORMONT SHOULD HAVE PUT HER ASS DOWN FROM THE BEGINNING. HER PEOPLE ARE EVIL AND ALWAYS HAVE BEEN. THE FACT PEOPLE SAY THE HAVEN'T SEEN THIS COMING IS DUMB.

I always thought that her world communist revolution should end horribly, so I’m glad it did. When you dehumanize groups of people, even if they are tyrants or slavers, you are one step away from dehumanizing anyone and everyone. "King's Landing only rang the bells when they started to fear me. They loved a tyrant -- not me, they enabled the murder of Missandei and must pay." And yes, her character arc makes total sense: orphaned, threatened, abused, owned, raped, betrayed by family, friends, and lovers. Poor Dany. There’s no redemption unless you die to your old self and get reborn. Speaking of, John would clearly be better. He would probably start an evolution toward democracy, instead of trying to be the enlightened leader of the unsullied proletariat bringing utopia to the masses.

The show had slaves begging to return to the old ways. Quartg? From the greatest city of wealth n culture to a enslaved sacrificing burnt hole.

Slavers bay might have shed slavery for a while but it came back, plague too.
