What vox isn't saying is that Boeing spent millions smearing the concord, how US blocked concord landing at US airports during its time or that it was a Boeing 747 component that fell from the previous flight that would go onto puncture the concordes wheel on take off.

Did the airline ever pay back the millions of tax dollars paid to develop this plane? I'm just glad the Rich and Famous had such a sweet ride on your dime.

No tax dollars spent to develop the plane at all. No americans were involved in its development.

It failed because you could not generate enough revenue from the 100 passengers to pay for the fuel and the crew, let alone pay for the plane !!!! Had it not been for Britain and France financing it it would never have been built... And had British Airways and Air France not been GIVEN the planes, it would have never made a revenue flight !!! The inside was small, narrow and a low ceiling !!! I was on the plane in Seattle twice, first when it first arrived before the seat were blocked and the plane was tight, seats were snug and very little leg room and I am only 6 ft 1 inch 210 # the main aisle just wide enough to get down it for one person. You would not want to spend more than 3/5 hours on it !!! technically a success but a financial disaster !!! Ironic in the Museum of Flight in Seattle a British Concorde sits alongside a the first 747 built, The city of Everett....ironic as the 747 put the concorde in the museums 16 years ago and the 747's are still flying still being produced !!!!! 18 concordes made and almost 1600 747's made !!!
