- Published: 25 October 2017
- Ah, the World Series, commonly known as the Fall Classic. The culmination of 7 long months of playing ball damn near every day to determine a champion for America’s pastime -- where baseball fans from sea to shining sea get to enjoy two amazing baseball teams featuring shutdown aces and dinger-mashing stars. But in 2006, we didn’t get a Classic … we instead got The. Worst. World. Series. Ever.

BRO THIS WASNT A BORING SERIES PUJOLS KNOCKING HRS IN FIRST GAME OF WORLD SERIES WAS SO EXCITING FOR ME IM ST. Louis native AND WE SCORED 7 points in a baseball game in THE WORLD SERIES HOW COULD THAT POSSIBLY BE BORING?
You call it the worst, but as a Cardinals fan, I quite enjoyed it thank you!
As a Cardinals fan I have to disagree
sounds like a Tigers fan.
It's so funny to hear names like Sean Casey and Fernando Rodney in this series
Damn 19-31. Sounds familiar. #finishedthefight
this is cringe
So why was this WS bad ?
The 2007 World Series?
“Dur best fans in baseball” shut up boomer
Cbrodeo cards suck. 4-0
Also can we acknowledge the fact that this video just described a relatively average world series and but acted like it was somehow a bad one because things were happening in pop culture? Wow it’s almost like I can do that with 90% of sports championships. This entire upload reeks of “i don’t care about baseball but for looked up a wikipedia page last night about a world series that happened last decade.”
Makes fun of cardinals fans being the best fans. Doesn’t realize that every team appreciates St. Louis fans except for Chicago, even when they hate they cardinals themselves
Episode 7 of The Worst is about Episode 6 of The Worst. Couldn't even watch the whole thing.
I wouldn't call it the worst. 2005, now that was a dumpster fire.
I feel like 2005 was worse and more boring
2019 WS is definitely going to take this top spot
It lasted 7 games. All won by the road team. Washington hasn’t had a world series victory since 1924. They do now.
I've been a Cardinals fan since I was a little boy. Followed them through 20 years in the military although I didn't get to watch many games. Finally got to watch them in a world series in 2006 and I loved it. They played well as did the Tigers. The Cards just played a little better. Tony LaRussa said it best. "play hard, if the other teams wins, tip your cap".
Spoiler alert! This man is secretly a Cubs fan. You’re welcome.
How was 2004 not worse?
jajajaj as STL fan this is beautiful with only 83 wins :) but hey stl beat that Mets team so technically we deserved theat ring by default. That mets team was loaded: beltran, delgado, reyes and so on
Should’ve been the Mets if they didn’t have John Maine and Oliver Perez as their only starters
Nov 3 Borat was released and your lamest friends have been quoting ever since... that cuts deep, real deep
I always thought the worst was in 2007, when the Rockies -somehow- made it to the World Series, only to get stomped by the Red Sox. The Rockies had a hot streak at the end of the season that astounded everyone. Seriously, that hot streak was epic, and they rode it all the way to the World Series. However, by the time the WS started, they had come back down to Earth and had become a National League embarrassment. With the Red Sox laughing at the Rockies on their way to a 13-1 victory in game 1, I didn’t need to watch the rest of the series, and I don’t think anyone else did either (unless you were a Rockies or a Red Sox fan, of course). The Rockies were in over their heads and I’m sure they knew it. Only one question: Would the Rockies be able to get that hot streak going again? The answer was no. No hot streak. Just a brown streak from when the Red Sox wiped their asses with them. They got swept, and it wasn’t even very close. Or exciting. Or even interesting.
While this was entertaining, the worst WS was in '07. The Rockies had destroyed everyone in their path to the WS, only to be swept by the Red Sox.
2006-2008 World Series were God awful..
Pujols was never a superstar. Nobody knew who that guy was outside of baseball fans — a dwindling group even then.
'm a rangers fan, so the reason this was a bad world series was because the cardinals won.
The cardnals won great ws for me
1994 worst one its like it never happened
Sounds like Cubs fans got their egos bruised again and can’t take it. So they try to call the 2006 World Series the worst one when in fact they try to call the 2016 World Series the greatest thing ever to happen yet they sold their souls to win it and trashed their souls for eternity because of it. I’m very glad I was never and never will be a scrubs fan. P.S. - 2006 was epic because they were the underdogs.
84 .Detroit vs San Diego.sweep . Detroit was so good .SD sucked .except for Gwynn.who just hit singles .
Andy Vidito Even the Tigers basically won the AL East the moment the ‘84 season started in a huge landslide. However for the Jays though they did if I remember right, finished strong that season. It lead the groundwork for 1985 and later being a playoff contender for the next 7-8 years ending in a mini dynasty with the 1992 and ‘93 World Series wins. Ps Gwynn was more than a singles hitter. He always got on base, almost never striking out and earlier on in his career an excellent defensive outfielder. If not for the 1994 strike, he might have hit .400 BA. So don’t underestimate Gwynn because he was not a home run hitter.
@AmericanGiant100 my Jays chased them all season .thanks I forgot SD won one .
Andy Vidito actually the Padres did win a game in 1984. However that ‘84 Tigers team is very underrated among the great teams for 1 season at least in last 50 years. Teams such as say the 1976 Reds and 1998 Yankees always get that claim.
Lmao that's funny cause the nats started 19-31 before the all star break
whats with all the random bullshit info we don't need to know or matters? pretty annoying
Ahhh yes my Cardinals are in the worst world series ever what do you know?
The 2005 World Series is the most forgotten World Series
A Cardinals World Series is NEVER boring!
How did my yankees lose to the tigers this year, we really should have had 1 more championship from 03-07
Yeah, they're my YANKEES, too!! the Tigers always play the YANKEES TOUGH!!! went to a parade this summer and saw a guy with a YANKEE shirt!! I hollered, "HEY, I LIKE THAT SHIRT!" (it was the weekend of that big YANKEE - TIGER series) he said some guy said a Tiger had the most wins against the YANKEES! I said, "Frank Lary of the Tigers is the only man to get 7 wins against the YANKEES in one season." they called that pitcher from ALABAMA, "YANKEE KILLER" and "BULLDOG". the TIGERS always play us TOUGH! no matter what the Tiger's record or how good we are!!! the Tigers always play the YANKEES TOUGH!
I'd say it was a pretty good world series. Only because the Cardinals won. Otherwise, rather forgettable, even for Cardinals fans. Then again, for us, every series is forgettable compared to the 2011 WS.
I don't get it.. it looks like a typical baseball game to me.
Good video. It did suck...accept that I'm a Cardinals fan.
And truth be told, rather win a shitty world series than lose an exciting one. Right Rangers fans?
In 2006 the Mets should of been there 🤦♂️🤦♂️
Just a reminder that the second most recent Cubs world series was in 1908.
Regardless of how bad the series was, its been 13 years and I'm still pissed that Kenny Rodgers wasn't ejected and that the Cards lost that game. I had to choose between going to game 4 or 5 before the series started and I picked 4 because it was a guaranteed game. Almost witnessed the clincher...
That's why pro sports are brutal, it's not who you play but when you play them.
I found a mistake. You said this is the worst World Series when actually it was one of the best.
They weren't dead the whole time.
Most underrated MLB World Series IMO, none other than the series between the Detroit Tigers and St Louis Cardinals, people need to start caring about about it because I don't think it's bad, I absolutely loved it because I'm a St Louis Cardinals fan! I don't care what anyone says about it! Deal with it!😎
Or how about the crazy win the astros had in game 5
