After killing everyone she can see, Dany flies back to her new perch to give a speech to her strangely-large army. - WITHOUT HAVING ANY IDEA IF CERSIE IS ALIVE OR DEAD!
        "Really? Why?"
        "Oh, OK...."

Yeah I didn’t hate the ending because I thought there were good moments but I think the whole plot seemed to revolve around Jon being the true heir and then Bran just ends up on the throne

Just ordered the book series today to help reset this universe in my mind cuz this season was a purely horrible disaster (writing wise) that destroys the beauty of the first 4 or 5 seasons. News today GRRM stated Winds of Winter comes out July 2020. Great reviews nevertheless James. Thanks!!

She had to destroy the city to save it. Logic checks out.

The Books and Season 1 - 6 were clearly showing the Three Heads of the Dragon is the Azor Ahai, not one person. Jon is simply the Last Hero of Three.

Daeny is the first of three dragon riders that take the throne and dies, but TOGETHER they save the living from the dead.

D&D know Tyrion is a Targaryen and showed in Season 6, 7 & 8 the dragons SMELLING Tyrion and Jon's blood and knowing the two are related to Daeny.

D&D know Daeny is the first dragon rider that takes the throne and dies.

D&D know the Season 2 House of Undying visions show Daeny will:
                1. take the throne in winter
                2. die north of the wall

Smart book readers and show watcher figured out with Sesasno 6 that Daeny, Tyrion & Jon are the three Heads of the dragon .... are are the new Aegon, Visenya, & Rhaenys. The ending for the show then became obvious, with daeny being the first dragon rider and jon being the last. All three will die but they will save the living and destroy the irion throne .... with Queen Sansa leading the new Westeros.

D&D know Jon Targaryen will marry Sansa Stark so he can remain the King of the North ... before he meets Tyrion & Daeny at dragonstone.

D&D decided with Season 7, to change the ending by turning Tyrion into a fool, who never figures out why the dragons didn't kill him, making sure Jon & Sansa never learn from Bran that they are COUSINS & daeny is Jon's aunt, and make sure Daeny doees not take the throne in winter although she easily could have ... and ... Daney does not die north of the wall, even though she is on the ground in front of the Night King.

D&D decided to make Jon the Azor Ahai and Daney is "Mad Queen" nissa nissa that he must kill to save the living. Again. Jon was always THE LAST HERO .... of three. Daeny was never going to go mad queen and was never going to be romantically involved with Jon.

Season 7 is the worst season of the series. Season 8 was simply continue the BS alternative ending by two BAD, selfish and egotistical Producers.

D&D ruined the ending to a great show, but they did enough good with season 1 - 6 to reveal what that ending actually is. Just ignore the last two seasons.

Season 6 shows the Three Heads of the Dragon is the Azor Ahai ... and ... Jon Targaryen will marry Sansa Stark before he meets Tyrion & Daeny on dragonstone.

Sheez. D&D even had Jon & Sansa have a huge hug in the finale. Not Jon & Arya but Jon & Ssnsa. They know GRRM had a reason for Sansa's hair being red and for her always wanting to be a Queen.

I found two fan fiction chapters, (The Betrayal) written with the care, thought and poetic talent that D & D couldn't muster. The poorly written Episode 8 may turn out to be a blessing in disguise in generating a wellspring of writing that carries on the tradition of our beloved GRRM.

The story is really well done, you need to stop thinking this is a heroes tale.
                        The passages of time.
Jon is the living embodiment of the future
Arya is the living embodiment of the present
Bran is the living embodiment of the past
All other characters are tied by each of these passages of time. These three are only influenced by one of these (JAB)
Religion. This means all characters of Westeros have their own will. All their actions and dialogue is based on their own personal beliefs towards the events and situations they are confronted with. All characters who arrive from Essos have their wills controlled. (What you believe controls your path in life and ends it)
                        A game of chess
The whole series is built around different games of chess. The one already in motion (game for the iron throne), building the board and pieces for a new game (the building of a new world), personal games of chess (character against character), individual game of chess (the game of life, how a character treats death) and the divine beyond game of chess (lord of light and the god of death).

I'm a little worried for His Dark Materials, the first book is on of my favorite books of all time.
The Hollywood movie got it so wrong, maybe HBO can get it right but I'm doubtful.
The second book was quite good but Lyra's character was so different compared to the first book, it felt like a completely different character, I just hope they don't choose to depict that version of her.

I wonder where the respawn point was for both the Unsullied and the Dothraki? The ranks of both seem to shrink and grow as needed by the "writing".

Sooooooo, Bran continuously saying he has no interest in Titles and how he isn’t Bran Stark anymore, and refusing taking over Winterfell because now he is the Three Eyed Raven and he cannot be bother by human tasks. And the suddenly accepting the Crown, that is the BIGGEST problem of the plot. It was SO out of character. Even bigger than Daenerys going full blown mad queen. D&D gave up good writing for the sake of shocking the f*ck out of us.

Sandor isn't dead. Arya never saw his body. They'll meet up later. Sounds reasonable to me.
Jon Snow has been punished by being forced to hang out with people who respect him and banging hot Wildling babes. Darn...

the problem with season 8 isn't the main beats in the story line is how they got there. It was so incredibly rushed, made the ending what it was. Martin has publicly stated that the show should have been a few more seasons. HBO should have continued it with different showrunners.

Game of Thrones S8 : The Ultimate WTF compliation

b4 i start, i've GOT some GOT jokes i've been wanting to tell:

up until S7, GOT was GOAT.
what do we say to the god of death?............... find D&D!!
And now, my watch has ended........... and wishes i ended my watching after S7
Winter came........... and after swallowing S8, everyone's left with a really bad taste in their mouths.
You know nothing, D&D (about script-writing)!!!
Drogon flew off to pull a Dracarys on D&D!
now i know what i would use my one infinity snap for, if i ever got one. GOT S8

WHEW!! that feels nice!! it was good..... eh? no? ok.

Climax Disappointment level : it is over 9000! (over Dexter level)
Cringe level : The Room (almost)

                                                        SHIT THAT SHOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED:

the writers were probably thinking they were pulling some classic GOT shit on us by doing this...... u know, the subverting expectation WTF moments, that are generally attributed to & were seen as the trademarks of this series. i never liked those, but it made the series much more realistic; very much concurring with the history of the real world, especially that of europe & asia, even though they have mixed up eras & their tendencies. but let's be honest, we were all here for enjoying an extra-ordinary fantasy series. All epic fantasy series' have kind of a hidden format or atleast some similarities if u observe them - Witcher, Wheel of Time, Lord of the Rings, etc. For eg., after the great last battle, we get a happy ending. What I wanted was a happy ending, a happily ever after. What i wanted was something of the same format; granted it would be familiar or boring to some of you, but then even to those people, it would have been way better than the pile of shit called Season 8, that we GOT (no pun)!
it was the writers pulling cheap parlor tricks trying to impress God knows whom. They were trying to shock us for the sake of shocking us, & it destroyed the story!! The other fantasy epics are all cliches, but they are all cliches for a reason - our love for them as they are!! all i wanted was a live-action pay-off climax like LOTR. wud that have been so bad?

                                                        1) my favrt characters were Dany, Jon & Tyrion. Dany & Jon didn't deserve this shit treatment. Dany might've been a bit severe at times, but she, who was shown to have a really caring heart, who shows limitless sympathy towards slaves & the innocent, somebody who firsthand knows the horrors of war, oppression, & exodus, somebody who puts a lots of emphasis on being just, is suddenly seen here as the Mother of Overcooking. She is downright EVIL here. That's right, not mad. Evil. she doesn't appear to be much mad here. She suddenly turned evil/mad/whatever because she felt alone? She shouldn't've turned evil. She was a legit heroine character. why didn't u let her be, D&D? Jon. He had the purest of hearts & he had already suffered a ton. He deserved to be the king & the Kingdom needed someone like him too. Jon's like a useless vegetable in this season (even if u go with the flow); he's somehow too powerless (to show that he's henpecked). it's not too out of character (he loves her & also swore an oath) if u think about it, but why was he too driven to share his identity secret to others? does 'honorable' mean 'keep no secrets at all'? i tell you, the drama b/w Jon, Dany & Sansa was pure shit; obvious drama for the sake of drama - a reason for the predetermined chaos'. i first thought Dany was the Chosen One, then Jon became One too. so i thought, awesome, 2 chosen ones... or.....The Chosen Twos..
then they pull this shit. all i ever wanted was the 2 of them ruling the kingdom justly, man & wife, king & queen, hea. why were they both shown to be Dragonbloods anyway, if this was the ending?

                                                        2) the death of Cersei was romantic, but she should've got her comeuppance for the evil that she was. Sure, we sometimes sympathise for her, but she can't get away that easily from the karma for all the Nurse Ratched shit that she unfeld.

                                                        3) Jon Snow should've fought the Night-King......EPICLY. Sure, Jon's sword is valy-steel (in E4, even the rabbits in winterfell brandished valy-steel & dragonglass swingers), but they should've somehow got around that script-point & MAKE THE MOST ****ING AWAITED ONE-ON-ONE DUEL OF THIS DECADE anyway, & awesomely!! also, imo, Night-King should've talked, preferably to Jon. instead we got an even more disappointing dagger-of-time-into-the-sand-glass scene & an instant chandelier explosion, courtesy Arya, who had nothing to do with the Night-King b4.

                                                        4) Rhaegal was easily shot down, from MILES away, with PERFECT aim, but Drogon flies straight into ALL the scorpions (hundreds of them), sea & land, and none hits him, aims at him or even fires at him? how many shots max fired? 4? 5? Suuuuure. it would've ended nicely, if Jon & Dany were not just King & Queen, but dragon-riding ones, with one for each.

                                                        5) how does Dany still have that much Dothraki & Unsullied still left after the Battles of Winterfell & King's Landing? where is this infinite supply coming from? if it has a reason, it was not clear from the shit storytelling of S8.

                                                        6) i would've liked it if Misandei & Varys were alive.

p.s.: game of thrones is a tragic story about a wise heroic king trying to stop 2 evil queens, a 3-eyed evil omniscient kid & a king who is a total loser (always disappointed & ultimately a disappointment), but fails. :D

I hated that they gave even a thought to what GreyWorm cared about anything. Like who are you dude? You're not from there nor staying there. Jon was the true king and then punished, as if his brother, the Robot King, couldn't pardon him just like Jaime was pardoned. Instead, Aegon Targaryen became a homeless woodsman. Hated the last few episodes.

When they all shouted "LONG LIVE KING BRAN!" in the King's Council I had to laugh. He's the Three-Eyed Raven. He is practically immortal. He will probably live and rule for the next 2000 years until he chooses his successor! And just what is the mission of the Night's Watch? HUGE FUCKING PLOT HOLE THERE. Christ.

Season 8 overall killed GOT but atleast it could have been a worse ending. I liked seeing the iron throne melt, Sam becoming a maester and Dany getting killed by Jon after burning down the citizens of Kings Landing.

I wonder if any series will be as consistent as Breaking Bad EVER.

It would have been horrific and lazy, but.... What else can we expect from D&D?

Who didn't think Jon was going to do it? It was so obvious and bad that it was painful to watch. I kept thinking...come on now, amaze us, excite us, make us sorry that it's ending. Didn't happen. One thing about epi 5. Everyone Dani knew and loved either died or lied, including Jon. Perhaps that's what drove her to madness or caused the madness she suppressed all along to come out.
