That he ended up fucking all away last minute. God, the amount of character regression. Such a shame. Good character till the last second.

thats true but thats not the reasson he lost his hand, he lost it because he had a big mouth and didnt know when to shut up all he had to do is sit there after he got the group of guys trying to rape the blonde female.

The truly amazing thing is; I see so many younglings argue that bad writing was actually subversion, in "the Last Jedi", but all of these same people can not see artistically crafted subversion in Got. Plato was right (when he spoke through his depiction of Socrates). Art, and democracy, are wasted on the masses.

As jaimie says himself, "that hand was me". When he lost that hand he died. Just like Jon Snow died. It has long been my personal theory, that IF there is to be significance to the mythologies of Westeros (which I do not fully think there will, because of the author's disdain for mythos), then it is Jaimie who is "the prince who was promised". He fulfills all the prophecies of the myth, better than any of the more often speculated characters and more importantly, it is perfect subversion. Jaimie was literally the first "villian" of Got. Episode one ends with blatant evidence that we are supposed to view him as such. If not viewed through that lens, then every thing he does after that, makes him one of the most heroic and noble characters in the story. Take him breaking out of the Stark's POW camp - When the same thing happens to Bruce Willis in Die Hard, or Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon, we cheer for our hero. But we were conditioned to view that same event differently in Got.

He "ambushes" Ned, who we are conditioned at that point to assume is the protagonist...but this is all subjective. And literally everything he has done is in defense of his family, or the people of Westeros. It is epic subversion, because point of view (and pushing a child out a window) are what make him the bad guy. What an utterly fantastic way to script the mythological hero, when one is trying to subvert "fantasy" tropes. Frankly, I will be more than a little disappointed if he does not plunge his sword into Cerci and it becomes Lightbringer - which also completes the prophecy given to Cerci about her being killed by her younger brother. (OR, if we go much more subtle with our prophetic interpretations; he already has "plunged his sword" into his sister...which will produce lightbringer, in the form of the child she is carrying. That is the myth I would have written, because myths have never been intended to be literal.)

Simple answer George RR Martin likes to be very cruel with his characters with the killing and raping and Theon Greyjoy getting his dick chopped off

    End of story!!!

good video, just one minor correction, in the books, Jaime kills, in battle, two sons of Lord Karstark, no only one, as mentioned in the video.

@allancg great arguments. I cant really rebuke those at all. I happened to love Locke tho simply based on the actors performance. He had me at hello. In a "holy shit, hes badass" sort of way. I'm pretty simpleminded tho lol

@bridge4 I dislike the change, for me the character itself wasnt even worth of paying attention. The way it is present in the show, Locke is a tool for plot to move, just like Hoat, but Hoat had o lot more of info around his character that made him much more interesting. The guy is the only character from Qhoror at this point of the history, that command the first company of mercenaries presented, this together with a lot other info that Martin build around the character makes him be more than he simply is (a tool for the plot) but also part of the whole world that Martin is building. Locke, on the other side, is just a common mercenary from Westeros, when I look at him, I see plot tool directly and nothing more, and because of that, I couldnt care less about him.

I would be able to like the change if the character was more than his counterpart in the book, like Bronn, where I prefer the show version better than the book one, even knowing that the book version fits much better into the universe.

Profession may be giving it too much credit, but that wss the goal. Just to get something clean in there while I thought about a new avatar. :)) if you saw my original one you'd crack up. It wss weird bubble letter "b4" with lame coloring. Looked like something a really young kid would choose lol

This Jersey coloring works really well for people like myself who use YouTube dark mode. It pops :))

There was no need to cut jaime's hand , through out the whole season we heard that jaime was a great swords man and never got to see any his fight. It was better if jaime had his hand we could see some of his fights in the season ! They could also show him a better person without cutting hand too

Why? Because his character at that point needed to be cut down a peg. Other than doing some douchey stuff (like sister fucking and attempted child murder) the guy is perfect. Good looking, good with a sword, is the heir to a great noble ect. If these characters didn't have conflict there wouldn't be a story....and we wouldn't care otherwise. That's why.

Maybe he'll even fight the final battle with 2 swords like The Star of the Morning (sorry I'm bad with names) Jamie did say he wished he had something more useful than a metal hand... if Gentry learned to make Valirian steel Jamie could actually do so e damage in the battle to come. Might be wishful thinking but Jon did say they needed every man I would assume he ment that he wanted them to be able to fight well.
