I've never looked at Grey Poupon the same after watching this video. I always have the urge to tell people that it's the rapper's condiment.

September 23, 2007 family guy referenced Grey Poupon which is how a low of younger kids learned about it. So that’s to be considered.

Great video. I think what's missing is kids who grew up in the Saturday Morning Cartoon era, watched a lot of television. Those ads were impactful, there were things you saw on t.v. that you had to have, others you saw and wanted to try but your parent may not have been keen on paying the extra coins for. When it came to Grey Poupon it was something that represented wealth and became a fixture of what wealth was like for those that were poor or even middle class. I doubt very many of those rappers have even tasted Grey Poupon. Most people I know only eat mustard on or in 3 things. Hamburgers, Hot dogs and potatoes salad and the Frenchy yellow mustard is the go to. I actually prefer brown or Dijon mustard but have never tasted Grey Poupon, it's just one of those cultural iconic references that everyone gets

Rappers like Grey Poupon because of a commercial from the late 70s or early 80s, where an obscenely rich old man in an RR asked if he could borrow some Grey Poupon. That television commercial played heavily in large urban markets during shows like Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune (i.e. shows that a black kid's grandmother would have watched. And since Big Mama was the queen, they had to watch them too.) I don't care what you know-nothing millennial snowflakes have to say on the subject. That is the real reason.
