I have strawberry plants in pots here in Philippines. Hawaiian festival variety. The temperature here is 30-35 degrees celcius. Is the temperature good for the plant?

Just another tip, Paul Gautschi says in his videos the runner's will be your producers for next year, so every winter he covers the strawberries and by the time they bloom in spring/summer, that mulch has become great dirt and your runners come up strong and ready. Did this in my gardens and it worked great

Why do you have red Solo cups in your yard? Is that to confuse the wildlife or do they serve a different purpose?

Have been watching your vids for few months now and have prepped a large portion of my backyard for spring planting (laid down 2 inches of compost and covered with 6+ inches of tree mulch). Question on the strawberry 'runners': will the runners do down through the mulch to root into the soil underneath, or do I need to help with that?

Take care and give my love to Tucker!

You will more than likely need to move the mulch out of the way ro help them root

The best time to pick berries in the garden is in the early morning hours before heat builds up in the fruit.

One an everbearing the other a June bearing. The Seascape green tops are so tender I just eat the whole thing. The Sparks are tougher so the green tops must be removed. Hope I can find Shuksan. Thanks for the great video man

Shuksan is good if you need extreme cold tolerance....but most varieties are quite cold tolerant anyways...its the nature of Strawberries. Toscana and Fresca are two HEAVY producers....you'll be drowning in berries! As for watering and fertilizer, if you mulch heavily and enrich with compost, Strawberries are very undemanding and you won't need any extra chemical fertilizers and the water schedule would be the slightly less than say a tomato plant....maybe 3/4's how much you'd water those, or even less. Watch the plants, they'll tell you. Mulch eliminates evaporation and moderates temperatures....so that will help. Pill (sow) bugs tend to attack the berries that touch the ground. So prop those ones up if you can.

If you could share some techniques it would be helpful. I have a fruit cage over my everbearing because the birds would get them before me. Sow bugs are a big problem too. I eat the berries anyway after a rinse if the bug didn't chew much.
