DANY in the HOUSE OF THE UNDYING vision: We should ask ourselves, WHY does she move away from the iron throne and doesn't take ti. It' because she hears crys of her dragons - FOR THE LOVE FOR HER CHILDREN... Her wish for the iron throne is strong, but her humanity in stronger. She proved it time and time again.

Tyrion made a good point. Most in that room have fought the Starks. It was good to see all of them together. Gives some hope that "afterwards" those who survive will work together.

Jamie will die in Brienne's arms and his last words will be something to the effect that this is how he wants to die. And Brienne will write Jamie's deeds in the book. And we will cry our eyes out during both of those scenes.

Here’s a though, if Dany falls from Drogon and dies, she will get raised as a Wight. Will she still have her magical skin changer link with Drogon? Meaning that a living dragon would be controlled by a Wight. Or does Targaryen blood mean that you can’t get turned to a Wight?

Literally no one is saying Sansa's "special" because she's been raped. Sorry, but out of all the irrational Sansa hate, that's an especially shitty comment.

Did no-one think that this episode was a bit like the last episode of Lost? Where you get all the reunions, and all the emotion of it all makes you forget that the script is still pretty shit??? You cry, and because you cry you feel that must mean it was good?? Dany saying to Tyrion ' I need your brain' or whatever it was, was a new low for me. Show don't tell!! And the knight king's motives reveal was just a blah nothing. I enjoyed the Sansa Dany convo, and the Sansa Theon reunion because it had some meaning. And Brienne being knighted was lovely - but still the dialogue was pretty cringey. Arya's sex scene. I don't have an issue with it per se, but the chemistry was dire. Their kiss was not credible, it looked so false. And I know they want Arya to be strong but Gendry should have picked her up and carried her off. Strong women like a strong man.

I like GOT Academy's idea that the Knight King will go to the citadel next to destroy all the books. It makes total sense if he is interested in destroying history.

                          Hi Gemma. I'm Sean.
I've been watching your channel for years now. Same goes for Grey Area and In Deep Geek.
I have to say that I feel apart of this community, regardless of the fact I've been completely silent.
I want to thank all of you guys for your time spent to dig into GoT for us. The work you put in is impeccable.
It makes me feel apart of something greater; a story that is just... beautiful.
George R Martin had laid out a story and a world that we can build on, much like what has been done with Star Wars and you guys are keeping that world, that story going.
Thank you so much for the time you spend with us.
I'm not a Patreon donator, I haven't given any money but I am definitely in debt to the level of acceptance and appreciation that I have felt from your videos.
                          Thank you, Gemma.

I dont agree with you saying that the unsullied will get overran quickly . You have to remember that a small number of unsullied beat a huge horde that outnumbered them 10 to 1 . They attacked 4 times and were repelled every time . They then walked their horses past the unsullied and cut their braids and piled them up . The phalanx is the counter to calvary. And you have to realise that these guys have been trained from a small child to fight as a group . They are the best fighters in this army in a head to head fight

In the Night’s Watch oath, there’s the line, “We are the horn that wakes the sleepers.” Are the Kings of Winter the sleepers? Or are the sleepers the white walkers since they refer to the white walkers as sleeping for years. Do you think the Kings of Winter will fight for it against the army of the dead?

Way to miss the point entirely. What gave Sansa her smarts wasn't the abuse she suffered but the lessons she learned from Cercei, Littlefinger and maybe, Margaery and Ramsay (know your enemy). Political strategy is Sansa's forte. And a healthy skepticism of who to trust. Her training to be the wife of a lord has taught her the logistics of managing a large household (castle). If she has a part to play in the battle, it could be leading the survivors to safety through the tunnel system. She's shown she can keep a cool head during a battle (Battle of Bridgewater)

I gotta say though, to some of what your guest said -It would be great if the men in this story could be held to the same standards or critiqued equally as harshly as Sansa- ffs. Practically every character has made mistakes and done stupid things - but little girls just get no room for such things. Also wish that women could get props even without being what's typically viewed as "badass" or typically strong. And I didn't realize that not being fortunate enough to be educated is now fodder for low-bar comedy. Gilly came from absolute hell, was intelligent enough to fight her way out saving her child, and has learned to read. But, she speaks funny -rolling eyes.

I don't think Sansa's ever been stupid. She was naive, inexperienced, and ignorant at various points in her life, but she's always been intelligent. Her intelligence really starts to shine through in Season 6 and then comes into its own in Season 7, so I don't really understand people who say that they're suddenly making her seem smarter in Season 8.

Most especially, we've seen massive development of her emotional intelligence: her ability to understand people, their motivations, their feelings, etc. and then act on that. She's always been empathetic and kind, but her naivety kept her from truly understanding others'. The more experienced she became, the better she was able to read people, predict their reactions, and influence them. She correctly predicted Ramsay and Cersei's actions when others couldn't. She was absolutely right about Daenerys laying a trap for Jon on Dragonstone. She manipulated, deceived, and took down Littlefinger. She saw the truth of both Littlefinger and Arya's actions in Season 7. She deftly handled the northern lords' fickle loyalties and predicted how Jon bending the knee would affect them. She inspired Theon and Jon when they were at their lowest points and motivated them to take actions that drastically improved both their lives and her own.

Sansa's been playing the game *well* for seasons now. Her strength is her people skills, and she shows her intelligence there over and over again throughout the course of the series. Her character in Season 8 is a culmination of that.

                                                                      • Elizabeth Henry
