Hereditary was my favourite movie of last year, but I just didn’t really care for this film. Florence Pugh was excellent & the cinematography was incredible, but I feel like the movie was way to slow for my liking. I love slow burn movies, but this was just to slow for me. I enjoyed Dani’s story during the film though, I thought that was quite well handled.

Loved Midsommar. And my two fav movies of 2018 were Hereditary and Suspiria. :) I've subbed. Great channel.

@Jonn Ritland Awesome. I have been checking your channel out today, and I look forward to future content! I'm a massive horror movie buff. 😈👹

Ps, other favorites of mine (more recent films) are The Witch, It Follows, The Endless, The Last Exorcism (minus the last 10 minutes), Insidious, The Babadook, Evil Dead remake, and then 3 foreign films; one called Under The Shadow, one called Frontier(s), and one called Goodnight Mommy.

The medication she took was Ativan. It's a benzodiazapine used to treat anxiety and panic attacks. It's pretty strong stuff.

I barely read up on it but that does fall in line with how she acted in the movie

I liked the take on the broken mental state of Dani building into this movie and character arc. Music was fine in my cinema, they likey just had the volume up too high. Love the cinematography. Thanks for sharing. Check my review if you get a chance.

It sounds like the music issues you experienced might have been an issue at your cinema because I felt no problem on that front with the cinema I went to.

I agree with you on the part of horror film 101. This movie is as cliche as it come. Some young american traveled abroad and something horrible happened and only one or two will survive. I can't believe I'm saying this, you're laughing at the film not with the films. Old people orgy with their di*ks hanging out. The whole theater laughed like it is a parody of scary movie.

John I have a question. Idk if you’ve addressed it in previous videos or reviews, but did you watch the movie Mother? I’m wondering what you thought of it. It left me with a really disturbing feeling. Thanks!

Why does everyone say Midsummer when it's actually pronounced Mid-SO-MAR? :-/

@Jonn Ritland lol its good you aren't alone. No one seems to get it right.

But this was definitely a bizzare movie I really enjoyed it. The movie does make you want to repent. 😂😂😂

for me, this movie seemed to be a long-winded, horror depicting what happens to dudes who fail the perfect boyfriend test.
can we not be honest? dani has deep, deep dysfunction within her family that has nothing to do with christian. her sister needed to be in an institution and her family seemed to be literally asleep at the wheel.
but can we talk about pelle? so his mission from the very beginning was to befriend his bros so that he could lure them to his homeland to be slaughtered?

Agree. I mean he was just a boyfriend, not a fiance or husband who takes vow. She got him in bear. Remind me of nic cage in the wicker man.

Oh those are fair points, Dani has a lot of issues. Pelle did seem to only want to do that
