well after season 6 I had hope for the next season because the book stopped with some great stors going on
7 was the worst season for me, because I had to realize that they didn´t include the not finished story at all and that they new things they came up with where a mess
at season 8 I was just dull (don´t know if that´s the right word) watching the show, I already was disappointing so much that there wasn´t really any way to top that, It was just some "let´s get over with it", I didn´t really cared and still it was just ridiculous some times
I din´t really felt any thing and didn´t want to think about it too much, I blinded out that this is a part of a much better show and just could laugh about the ridiculous scenes (maybe out of desperation
at least it had some nice visuals sometimes was my only though at the end

Nothing made sense in Star Wars the Last Jedi movie. Even all the major characters were twisted out.

Am I the only one who almost laughed and had a flashback to "King Kong" when the dragon lifted Dany's body from the floor?

Good video. I have only one complaint: that's not how you say "Daenerys".

The GAME OF THRONES IS GREAT!!! People are just never satisfied. No matter how it would have ended, people will still want more & will still complain.

I blame Martin for allowing half story being created. He should have carried the show from start to finish it was he's damn idea not D&D.

For this season, Jon's character arc is the greatest disappointment to me with Jaime being a hard second. Dany's arc was half-assed and the setup of Arya's defeat of the Night King was worse. However, Jon, who started as a cocky showoff but became a strong, knowledgeable, brave leader and strategist from seasons 1-5 devolves from that to being someone who's so indecisive and whinny. Blaming all those character reversals on 'loving Dany' or 'because he swore an oath' is not enough; not after that speech he gave to Dany on Dragonstone. Their first meeting was the highlight of their relationship and as leaders, after that Jon just gave up on critical thinking all together - thanks D&D.

If Martin don't stand against this shit delivered by the two psychopatic blood-thirsty maniacs D&D , then his last two books of the series won't reach a second edition.....

I quit watching towards the end of season 6 but still 50/50 know what's going on just via YouTube. Honestly I couldn't believe the white Walker and the night king story took a back seat to The Denareus and Cercies story. Huge mistake in my opinion and then couple that with Aria getting the death blow on the knight king which was John's arch, well it made me glad I quit watching if I'm keeping it 100.

Undead invasion should have started mid season 7 and had white walkers conquering city by city with winter moving south episode by episode, untill 2nd episode of s8 where at kings landing would be last desperate stand against cold and undead. They should also present winter as devastating ruthless nature that kills armies with COLD, killing 30% of armies with nothing else but freezing them to death slowly. I would also keep it all obscure (even though i guess audience wouldnt like it that way), night king and his army should come in a fog that spreads and shrouds 7 kingdoms slowly, bringing the cold of winter. Snow, wind, blizzard, natures elements along with undead should be the long night. And how for it to end... i dont know, im not writer, but long night should be LONG and DEADLY. There are many fan fictions out there (bran making mad king mad by worging into him to warn him about unded telling him to BURN THEM ALL and later Bran becoming night king in desperate worging atempt into him before he is created by 'elf people'. Like I said, im not writer, point of this long comment is for Long night, how it fell short and laughable, it should have been ENTIRE SEASON LONG.

i’m probably in the minority but the white walkers, wights and the night king were always the LEAST interesting plot of game of thrones to me. it felt like the walking dead in a medieval setting these last couple of seasons. the human characters, politics and story has always been WAY more interesting to watch unfold.

With the shows propensity for sexposition . . . granted in some sometimes uncomfortable ways. . . I dunno how you can claim the show is "Anti fan service."
There's a shit ton of consensual non disturbing fan service littered throughout GoT from S1 to S8. There's been ship teasing since the beginning of the show . . . Like Gendy x Arya....So What do you mean by the show is anti fan service?

It's kind of funny how everyone is upset and the season isn't even over. I think a smarter way to enjoy and to analyze is to actually watching the show up to it's ending. Otherwise, a lot poeple are looking like fools for acting as if it is the end of the world.

The funny thing becomes less so, once you start to see the amount of idiots who genuinely think that a petition on "" is not only going to mean something to HBO, but also it speaks to the ridiculousness of caring so much for a goddamn TV show.
It's fine if you hate it or dislike it, but com' the fuck on. There are children that think a little more than you.

I personally like quite a bit the season so far. It has it's issues, but for the most part, the characters arc only go as naturaly as I saw them from the begining of the show. The production is top notch, the score, the visual effects... as Good as I come to expect. Don't know how is gonna end, but still excited.

Years ago I predicted people would hate the show at the end. Now I make another prediction. All those that praised it over the years will call it mediocre in 25 years time. And you can quote me on that in a quarter century.

Hbo proposed the season to have 10 episodes but dumb and dumber said it could be done in 6 episodes....
how about that ? after the show is finished i will start reading the books. someone proposed to me not to read the books beforehand because i would hate the show. Also Amazon will make a tv series out of the Wheel of time series, which is a bigger series of books and according to some people better than game of thrones .

You made a point of how some shows feel written from the end back to the beginning, and how that is backwards. With a series I agree that it will likely feel much more natural to write forwards and allow the story to unfold organically. With shorter stories, such as films, though it is now common place and even taught in schools as a perfectly fine approach to start at your end then reverse engineer your story to discover how you will get there. I imagine many newer (last 15 or so years) writers are using this method within ALL story telling including TV. I don't think it is necessarily wrong but the fact you mentioned this as being how a show may feel made me realize that doing things this way can actually create this problem for an audience, if not done carefully and skillfully. I think if you approach a long running show or franchise of films with a long term over all story (eg: Star Wars saga) you must keep your framework or outline very vague and open to be filled in over time. Too many plot points and details leaves the writers painted into one corner after another. I think the reverse approach to designing your story is something that has become common over the last 15-20 years at most. So I think we have lots of this to look forward to for quite some time before it becomes better understood how to balance it all out and keep things consistent and natural feeling throughout.

Well at least this essay, or analysis, of GOT is satisfying. I am not YET a fan of the show and am waiting to binge watch the entire thing. That wasn't always my intention but by the time I realized that I am interested in this show they were already a good 5 seasons into it. I still watched this though because of the parallels that exist in this franchise, or at least what it's going through, and Star Wars and it's own fandom. I know without even seeing GOT that you have made a very clear and deep assessment of just what it is that is happening with the show and what the fans may be struggling with. So long as these videos aren't TOO spoiler rich I will be watching to see how things go, at least from a certain point of view. ;)

Sorry, to me an infinite number of Jedis is my Star Wars. I grew up and fell in love with the OT but prefer the prequels by far. I can't get enough of Jedi magic. Might be why I don't care about the sequel trilogy, we're back a very finite number of force users. When you have many force users to choose with, even if tyou don't like the main guys, you can always find some role models with the lesser characters. Never was a big fan of the Force users in the OT or the sequels. In the OT, my top 4 characters were not Force users, Han Solo, Boba Fett, Lando Calrissian and Wedge Antillies. Fett is the only one in my top 10 atm and his father is the only other character who's not a Force user in the top 10.

The simple reason that the show went down hill is because they ran out of book material because the books were written like a screenplay and made it super easy for sub par writers and directors to look good. Most of the awards that this show has received need to go directly to Martin.

It's a piece of entertainment. You didn't think much of it, it doesn't fucking matter. Stop boasting about how picky, ungrateful and how much of a choosing beggar you are. Of course it is not perfect, so what? You don't know how to write a screen-play like this, stop pretending you do.

All this build up and they barely made a dent. When they attack Kings-Landing, we can hardly even tell that their forces have diminished.

And now, people are pissed off. Moronic writers/producers. I want a petition that ask D&D to do a walk of shame. Make it happen! Subvert my expectations and make those 2 morons walk among a big crowd of disgruntled fans, all throwing pig shit at them while yelling SHAME! SHAME! SHAME!

The show's failures are simultaneously much more sophisticated (in terms of the elements of the story that they incorporate), and much simpler (in terms of basic storytelling failures) than that.
