  • Everything is getting stuck! Well, not everything but our semi and Randy's cart sure did. The conditions are anything less than ideal with more rain on the way.. The J&M cart is handling the conditions like a boss and we love the Crary Wind System. The Thunder Creek Fuel trailer sure saves us time and we can especially appreciate it when running this far behind.

Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

not a farmer, but i like to actually see for myself how food is produced and don't solely rely on portrayals by media and/or ngo's (global issue these days). this channel in particular is somewhat funny and entertaining. so instead of just looking out the window waiting for time to go by i figure i might as well watch some Millenial Farmer ...

@Alex Haman I know and i love Australia but i believe the heart of the combine is the combine it self and Deere has the potential to put at HUGE header on it. Right.
Regarding the drills.... No one is even close to Australia :-D
Every country who are blessed with great areas will finins the job as soon as possible as Canada. We in Denmark can never use such machinery 'cause our country is so small that we would tear down Copenhagen if we tried to turn a drill like that!
Great vid and great post. Thank you all!

@Thor The Northern you gotta check out some of the air seeders and harrows they use in Australia. Sometimes double the size of America's biggest drills.

Hello From Boston, MA. ... Made it to the end. I'm not a farmer. I work in the film industry as a location scout. I'm always interested in seeing professional style youtube videos. You have a funny personality and seem to be a natural infront of the camera. Well done. Additionally I'm always interested in learning something new and learning more about our nations farmers. I can see that your work and all our farmers work in hard. So from those of us who haven't said it before. Thank you.

I fix electronics (state 800MHz trunking system in Michigan), however really enjoyed farming simulator. I maybe be looking for a second stream of income when I retire from the National Guard. Many people do not understand really where there food comes from. Or the personal struggles. However I continue to watch your channel because I want a small tractor, I appreciate your demeanor and commentary. And learning something I know little about.

Grew up on a dairy farm in western north Carolina. Machinery always intrigued me. I always wanted to operate a combine but we dont have the acurage or the terrain for it here so I get a kick out of watching it done. I know all about getting things stuck and break downs. Got pulled alot by the tractor and chopper in a silage truck. Had to do alot of in the field repairs by the time silo time was over the equipment ran great just to set and tear up again some how never could figure that out lol

Ok Mr Millennial Farmer - Actually not a full time, not a... depend-on-the-crop-for-a-total-living - farmer. Had farm in my early years, enjoyed it completely. Enjoy the machinery, enjoy seeing how food is produced, enjoy seeing huge (more then 10 acres) bean fields, and almost endless corn fields. It's the process, the dedication to the task, I do things in my retirement that have similar obligations in terms of --- getting it finished when it should be to match other peoples expectations and the obligations which extend therefrom. and oh yea... my agriculture is mostly in growing trees, I expect to add crops  (big garden). The scope of your grain-farming operation is uplifting.   At age 67.... on a good day... I still do 30-something things.     Your nose to the grind-stone --- full speed ahead !      ( (cole the cornstar mentioned your channel. Then I tried it out (watching your presentations ) good work ! ))

Someday this farmer will learn to go no-till and not have so much mud. It seems crazy that a farmer would abuse his soil with tillage and then complin about the mud he caused.

I grew up on a farm in Canada, when the BSE crisis hit we lost pretty much the whole farm. We still have about 300 acres and the homestead, I work for the railroad and I have put the land to hay. This dry summer my neighbours were pretty glad that I had plenty of hay for them... hopefully this winter doesn't get too rough for the cattle folks outhere.

Its interesting seeing how much things have changed...and stayed the same...mudding out the corn and soybeans. I loved the harvest time of year...except unloading ear corn into the elevator to run up into a corn crib...usually miserably wet and cold. Combining was fun as long as the heater was working in the combine. otherwise, my toes often went numb. One of my favorite memories is of chopping corn silage on a Sat. afternoon while listening to a Michigan football game on the tractor radio. Your videos are an interesting unwind at the end of my day now.

If you don’t mind I’m just extremely curious as to how a 23 year old like me could own 1000 acres of farm land and be able to use it? Sounds expensive.

Wanted to see how a certain machine worked, which i believe was vertical tilling. Have stuck around since.
