They should open source the modules so that people could make more shit. Maybe this will help spreading it and making it common.

This laptop is primarily marketed towards government, police and military. Look in any police cruiser or military vehicle and you will usually see a Toughbook.

I have an Acer with an I3 processor, 2.5 GHz, Turbo Boost of 3.5 GHz, 6 GB of ram, an integrated Intel graphics card, 1 Gig FIOS, hard-wired-in, and I am planning on upgrading to 16 GB and adding a 500 GB M.2 SSD.

Unfortunately, I can't upgrade to a dedicated graphics card. Will the M.2 SSD and extra 10 GB improve performance closer to an I7 processor? I have two trading platforms and multiple Google Chrome tabs running concurrently, and my processor fluctuates between 30% and 90%. My ram uses 5 GB out of 6GB, and I have lagging issues with the platforms, and one of them crashes on me. Thanks.

This level of ruggedness doesn't have to just be for enterprise uses; rugged means it'll survive anything you or I could throw at it and keep on ticking, meaning you buy it and it'll last you 10 years, likely. So instead of buying 3, or possibly even 4 machines during that time, you only need the one.
