Your videos have always managed to come close or predicting exactly how things would unfold. And now that the show is over, it's easy to see how your predictions actually lined up with the events that aired. Seems like this was a pretty spot-on prediction regarding Varys. Among several other things, I did not like the way many things were left unanswered when this show finished for good. What Varys heard is one of the things that should have been clarified. At this point, we can only guess what Varys heard in the flams. And, judging by how Varys met his end, it's likely that "Dracarys" was what he heard in the flames since it was the last thing he heard before he died. Still, we don't know for sure and it's those kinds of loose ends that bug me most. Important plot points that no one bothered to circle back and close!

          Writting in May 2019...

That dialogue between Daenerys and Varys is another proof of how rushed and carelessly written this 8th season is. There should have been time for exactly that - Varys say to her, looking into her eyes, that a massacre was out of question and there were alternatives. So she would show her instability, flip on him and then he would resort to conspiracy again, leading to his death.
Bu no, the mere mention to another candidate to the throne makes him forget this promise, instead of using her own words against her. It would be way more credible to show her anger, and not just her insecurity, earlier in the season.

If Varys knew he would die due to "conspiracy to treason", then perhaps that explains why he was so careless and spilled the beans directly to Jon Snow in episode 805. He wanted to plant the seed in Jon's head that Jon is the best person suited to rule all of Westeros.

Now Varys has essentially said that he’s willing to kill or have Dani killed (S08/04) to Tyrion. So much for him not being willing to betray her....

Varys wanted to be useful at the battle of Winterfell. He only had to acquire a crossbow and shoot from any number of murder holes in the many towers of the castle. Tyrion would have joined him, both been through too much to sit on their arses in the crypt waiting to either be killed or rescued. Likewise, Sam should have been placed up on a tower with a crossbow if the writers wanted to keep him alive. It is in line the story as Sam knew he was no swordsman, Jon Snow knew that too.

Varys will be a sacrifice of some sort. To the lord of light. That is the only thing that would scare the crap out of him.

Varys still has to die at this point, I can see him dying because of his scheming. I think Jon and Tyrion both will support Jon as king over Dany if they find out his lineage. But I think a fitting end for Varys would be the same way Pycelle was stabbed by the little birds or burned by Dragon fire. I don't see Varys or Tyrion betraying Dany for Cersei, so Jon is the only one they could betray him for.

Red and blue flames / fire and ice. It was a prophecy of the war to come. Dragon's that were fire and ice, the living and the dead. It's so simple when you think about it. The red priestiest all know what was said, and what is thier whole religion about. The return of azor ahal to kill the knight king and white wakers. That's why Varys is so loyal to the Relm. He wants to protect the realm from dark magic. So he tries desperately to resurect the Targaryen dynasty, with the hope they can revive the dragons . That's were the eggs come in. Only Varys had the resources and forsight to have found those eggs.

Just my thought. Varys will betray Dany causing her death. Convinces Jon to stab her through the heart to create Lightbringer, it fails. The Night King will bring her back as his queen and gives her back Viserion. Dany with Viserion burns Varys alive (blue fire). Melisandre tells him what he heard in the flames "She told you not to betray her." Death by fire is the purist death, also the most painful.

You think it's useful, and then it kicks you in the head. Anyway, as far as I heard, in that scene, she never specifically said that the queen she served was Daenerys. And her message to Varys felt very cryptic; what she appeared to say was not what she was really saying - her message really was for Varys alone.

                                                                  • John Fleenor

It doesn't really make sense that the sorcerer (man in the box) would cut off his junk and throw it in the fire just to find out how Varys is going to die eventually. After the sorcerer had what he wanted, he kicked Varys out of his house and left him to die (because he didn't care what happened to Varys). If the message had told him anything about Varys or Varys' future, why would he kick the wounded Varys out and leave him to die in the streets? If the sorcerer was performing the same sort of blood magic that Melisandre was performing when she used the leeches on Gendry, then he was doing it for a purpose - like to see the future, cause a death (Gendry's leeches were used to kill or curse Robb Stark, Balon Greyjoy, and Joffrey Baratheon), or to communicate with a god (R'hllor maybe?). The message from the flames was something the sorcerer was asking for - not necessarily anything to do with Varys at all. It obviously still has something to do with the story, but it might be more like proof of the existence of the Great Other.

Personally I don't believe that Varys will betray Danerys. I believe that what he heard in those flames was that he is going to die by dragon fire. This might explain his mistrust of magic (along with a wizard kidnapping and castrating him) and also (hold on) why he has always served the Targaryens. I KNOW. HEAR ME OUT: He has been deadly scared of dragon fire and since the Targaryens are the only ones ever having a connection to dragons since Old Valyria, he has loyally served all of the Targaryens that he knew of, including Danerys, Viserys and even Young Griff (who he thinks is aegon though that is actually Jon Snow). His reasoning for supporting Danerys: "The good of the realm" is a facade. He supported Viserys even though he and Illirio Mopatis had to have known how crazy Viserys was. Young Griff (or rather the golden company) are gonna bring even more war and chaos upon the realm. Neither Viserys or Young Griff were going to be good kings for the realm or the people in it. Varys is going to die by dragon fire and he has taken precautions against it by serving the Targaryens but what you said about not being about to escape his fate is true. What Varys does not know is that the Night King now has a dragon of his own and that is how Varys will die by dragon fire... blue dragon fire. Like the fire into which his manhood was thrown which also turned blue. I think that we should pay very close attention to how Varys reacts when he finds out that the Night King has a dragon.

                                                                        • caído

Mabye he was burned by the Night King's Dragon and the sound was it screatching. Remember we don't know how they sound when their dead.

Or was...why do you think in 6 episodes we would have time for Varys to screw over Dany? There will be a lot going on and I doubt that is one of them things!

He will be in Winterfell during the attack as we know for sure now... not saying he won't die but I highly doubt he will betray anyone... he will probably die saving someone; that is the twist since he always said I'm no hero... but he will die a hero.

I think you're misreading this whole thing. The priests and priestesses have been proven to be wrong before (i.e. Melisandre believing that Stannis was the prince that was promised.) Melisandre has even admitted to being wrong before. And I believe that if Varys were to be speaking to one of his little spiders it would be to keep an eye on what is going on in King's Landing while they are in the north fighting. To keep an eye on Cersei. He's probably going to find out that Cersei plans on betraying them. I do believe he is going to die in the last season, but I believe it may be in service to Daenerys and/or Jon Snow. And his conversation with the Red Priestess and Daenerys cemented that idea. Even in the conversation with Daenerys he said that his loyalty is to the people. D+
